Helping Employees

Recent legislation requires employers to take account of their employee’s mental health.  Employers must provide adequate support for their employees where the nature of their work places them under mental strain.  Employers must also take account of the special needs of those employees who have enduring mental health problems.  Finally, employers must give sympathetic consideration to employees who are seeking to return to work after a period of poor mental health and, where possible, make arrangements for a phased and managed return to work.
Common issues which we routinely help clients manage include coping with bullying; managing the symptoms of PTSD after traumatic, work related incidents, including phobias; time management; and assertiveness at work.
In addition to meeting employee’s mental health needs through one-to-one therapy, we are able to provide clients with a Back To Work Mentor who is able to liaise with the employee’s first line manager, the company HR department and the employee, usually by telephone, in order to plan and help implement a back to work programme.  The employer generally meets the costs of such a programme.  Fees for this work are agreed on a case-by-case basis.
